Hello, blessings to each one of you as we inch our way toward warmer days and flowers with the inward quality of Luna shifting to the outward expression and vitality of the Sun.
I have been meaning to share news since my last message in December, yet I had no worthy words to share. Emerging now, I am here to welcome Spring in the northern hemisphere as it approaches on March 19th with a special ceremony.
In alchemy we view this time as the beginning of the yearly cycle, where the inner hummus we have nurtured in the darkness is ready to be planted with seeds of manifestation. Although things appear rather dreary, instead of reacting to the doom and gloom that the media is intent on feeding us, look up towards the light. Emulate the little green sprouts that through the cold and darkness have emerged anew.
One of the Celtic customs of old, is the painting of eggs with images of our intentions for the coming year. These painted eggs are then "buried in the Earth Mother, who hears the cries and dreams of her children."1 In our modern times we have lost many of these simple, yet potent rituals that add layers of meaning to our lives. I encourage us all to step into the mythic realms of ritual and non-ordinary reality. These dark cycles require us to engage our will forces to view things from a different perspective. During my Aromatherapy training in the nineties, I made a blend to strengthen the will force, it consisted of Thyme, Elemi and Grapefruit.

At the perfumery and beyond, I have been quite happily working daily on orders, teaching, the development of several custom perfumes, and fragrances that have been out of stock. The latter task includes re-building chords that are used in many of your favorites, including Rosa, a very complex perfume.
βTerrestre has returned in the solid format and both Figure 5 Bois & Sovereignty, the third ritual perfume, are available as Eau de Parfums. Follow this link over to Wandering the Wonderland to read a new post about how Terrestre came to be.
As I write these words, the tiny tubs I use for the solid perfume discovery sets, are out of stock, except for a few sets and individual samples.
I am in the midst of transition, creating new packaging with my trusty graphic designer Jeff. The next update will include links to items that are in limited supplies and may not return.

We will gather in sacred space with a very special, pure, 100% ceremonial cacao from Guatemala, that has been prepared with intention.
Roxana will open the circle with a ritual anointing balm, followed by Elyse sharing the power of this very gentle heart centered plant medicine. As you drink cacao you will be relaxed into a sound bath as Robin guides you on a shamanic journey. Gina will close our circle with a Gong Bath.

Johns original presentation on The Sacred Use of Fragrance in Ancient Egypt was at the "Psychology of Perfumery Conference" in 1990 at the University of Warwick in England. It is a work-progress through the years to which he is always adding new research from Egyptologists, botanists, and perfume historians.β
